Welcome to my new healthy veggie cooking blog!

Hello,

My name is Isabelle, I’m 13 years old and I love to cook! This is my blog exploring delicious veggie cooking full of flavours from around the world.

I live in an old farmhouse in the countryside with my Mum, Dad, annoying brother and my crazy Vizsla puppy, Ralph. I’ve loved being in the kitchen since I was tiny (my Mum has a photo of me in my highchair helping her knead bread – I say helping, I’ve actually got my face in a pile of flour!!!). We cooked together everyday, baking different breads; making jams; nut butters; plant based milks and full on healthy vegetarian family meals. Now I’m home-schooled I’ve had more time to cook and bake new things, try out different recipes and create my own. I love using spices, herbs, home grown and foraged food in my recipes (which you can learn to use too).

My favourite type of day would be going for a long walk on a weekend to pick up foraged ingredients then coming home to make a massive batch of blackberry jam or a bowl of wild garlic pesto to have for lunch. Then relaxing with a spiced hot chocolate under one of my MANY fluffy blankets, reading cookbooks or watching a cooking show on TV.

l would love this blog to encourage you to get in the kitchen, no matter how young you are, so you can have fun experimenting and creating new flavour packed dishes that you’ll love and will ‘wow’ your friends and family.

Cooking is all about having a go, it might turn out to be an inedible mess (believe me I’ve had plenty of those) or it might just be the best thing you’ve ever tasted – whichever way it turns out it’s all invaluable experience on the journey to becoming a confident cook.
